Ana Braga is an architect, graphic designer and research fellow at Instituto Superior Técnico (IST-UTL).She received a Master of Architecture Degree from Instituto Superior Técnico in 2007.Collaborates with the EWV: Exchanging World Visionsresearch project.The projectaims to study Sub-Sahara African architecture and planning mostly built in Angola andMozambique during the modern movement period.

Francisco Ferreira

Francisco Ferreira

Born in 1986. MSc of Architecture (2010) and MSc of Construction and Rehabilitation (2013), with the thesis titled "Rehabilitation of Modern Movement buildings in Mozambique - Conservation plans for four case studies", developed under the scope of EWV project at Instituto Superior Técnico (IST-UTL). Francisco did his internship at Ricardo Zúquete's Office of Architects until June 2012, and started collaboration with the EWV research project in September 2012. Within the scope of this project he spent one month in Maputo (Mozambique), developing surveys to modern buildings. With the partial financial support of the Luso-American Development Foundation, he spent a six weeks period at the Getty Research Institute (Los Angeles, CA) studying the conservation of modern buildings. Currently Francisco works as an architect at Reabilita, a Lisbon based urban regeneration firm.

Jessica Bonito

Jessica Bonito

Born in 1988. MSc in Architecture at Instituto Superior Técnico (IST-UTL) with a dissertation entitled "Modern Architecture in Lusophne Africa - Reception and diffusion of modern ideas in Angola and Mozambique". An essay developed under the scope of the research project EWV: Exchanging World Visions, that intended to demonstrate in which way the ideas of the Modernist Movement’s architecture and urbanism circulated, with special focus on how the Portuguese architects who would later work in the African colonies embraced them. Jessica did her internship at IST-UTL and was a research fellow for EWV project from April 2012 until June 2013. Currently she works as an architect at Design Resorts.

Paulo Silva

Paulo Silva

Architect graduated from the Escola de Arquitectura da Universidade do Minho (EAUM-UM) in 2005. Currently attending masters in the same school concerning the theme: The Courthouse in Santa Maria da Feira, by the architect ALFREDO VIANA DE LIMA - REFLECTION FOR A REHABILITATION PROJECT, regarding the theme of rehabilitation of the Portuguese Modern Architectural Heritage. During his academic training, participated in the Erasmus program at the Facultá di Architettura di Ferrara, in Italy. In his career stands out his collaboration at the Architect Carlos Castanheira’s Atelier, where he participated in several projects by Architect Álvaro Siza Vieira.

Zara Ferreira

Zara Ferreira

Zara finished her Master in Architecture at the IST-UTL in 2012, with a dissertation entitled “The Modern and the Climate in the Lusophone Africa. School buildings in Mozambique: the Fernando Mesquita Concept (1955-1975)”, supervised by professors Ana Tostões and Maria Manuel Oliveira, with a score of 19/20. She is currently doing the professional internship while researcher of the EWV project. During her academic training, she worked at Tetractys Arquitectos (2010), for the Census 2011 at Alfama (Lisbon), as model maker (2011) and as jury for the documentary film festival DocLisboa 2004. In 2012 she got the category of “Finalist” in the national competition Secil Universities Award.
